Maria has had a diverse 35+ year career that's touched almost every part of the horse industry including, training horses & riders, rehabilitating horses, colt starting, competition, breeding, natural hoof trimming, saddle fitting, equine body work, and equine assisted coaching & leadership development.

Although she was competing with horses at the national level in her 20’s and early 30’s, Maria’s career has mostly been centered around helping horses & riders find greater success through education and wellness.

In addition to horse sports, she trained extensively in martial arts, which lead her to a deep personal understanding of bio-mechanics, athletic development, healing, and the interconnectedness of bodies & minds. That wisdom & knowledge gave her insights that aren't often taught in the very physically-focused horse world.

In 2004 Maria founded Equestrian Arts Foundation to share all of the things that she had learned with at-risk youth. This was just the beginning, as her passion for learning and systems thinking lead her down a path of never-ending study and certifications on the topic of human development and psychology.

She sees her work as helping both people & horses to move past challenges with compassion and to realize their full potential together.

University of Equestrian Arts (UofEA) is an online education business owned and created by Maria. It's made up of an Equestrian Online Learning Community and a library of Online Video Courses.

Maria offers membership free of charge to Equestrian Arts Foundation (EAF) Staff & Facilitators, as well as offering discounts to EAF clients and other non-profit organizations.

The mission of UofEA is to be a trusted resource for kind, intelligent, evidence-based training that applies to ALL horses & riders.

Maria is quick to point out that technology has changed horsemanship with it's ability to measure and evaluate every aspect of the care & training of horses. There's NO NEED to struggle or guess at solutions to our most common challenges with horses any more.
